Για πρώτη φορά: Έπεσε μαύρο την ώρα της μετάδοσης της Euroleague

For the first time, a EuroLeague basketball broadcast in Greece went completely black during live transmission. The incident occurred on Cosmote TV during the Olympiacos–Barcelona game, surprising viewers who suddenly lost access to the feed.

The blackout reportedly resulted from a signal disruption originating from the international broadcast provider rather than Cosmote TV itself. The issue affected multiple countries receiving the same central feed, indicating that the problem was not limited to Greece.

Cosmote TV quickly issued a statement explaining that the interruption was due to a technical failure outside its control and that its own systems were functioning normally. The broadcaster restored the signal as soon as the international feed was re-established.

The event sparked strong reactions on social media, with viewers expressing frustration and questioning how such a failure could occur during a major European sporting event. Industry sources highlighted that centralised content distribution means that when the main provider experiences problems, all partner broadcasters are affected simultaneously.

The incident raises concerns about the reliability of international broadcast infrastructure and the risks associated with centralized streaming models for premium sports content.
