CBI, ISB, Interpol Join Anti-Piracy Push
A two-day conference titled “Securing the Future of Creativity” was held at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad on July 10–11, 2025, jointly organized by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), ISB, and Interpol . CBI Joint Director S. Veeresh Prabhu emphasized that digital piracy has evolved beyond petty theft—it is now intertwined with organized cybercrime and requires a coordinated, multi-agency response .
Key attendees included cybercrime specialists, academic researchers, legal experts, and industry representatives. Rajasthan DGP Rajeev Sharma underscored the need for law enforcement to upgrade investigative skills and forge stronger ecosystems by partnering with academia and the private sector .
Over the two-day sessions, topics ranged from the piracy–malware nexus, challenges in tackling music and video piracy, technical hurdles in investigations, to Interpol’s cross-border strategies . Practical training was provided on investigative and analytical methods. The conference highlighted urgent needs: public awareness, capacity-building within enforcement agencies, and enhanced collaboration across stakeholders .
