Creative industry unites as MultiChoice leads walk against piracy
A large public demonstration against piracy was held in Lagos — MultiChoice Nigeria led the “Walk Against Piracy”, uniting actors, filmmakers, writers, media personalities, students and the public in a unified stand.
The march started at Ikeja City Mall and moved through the Ikeja area, while participants handed out flyers and spoke publicly about the economic and creative damage caused by illegal content theft.
Veteran creatives warned that piracy destroys the livelihoods and dreams of countless people: when you pirate a film or show, you’re shrinking opportunities and earning potential for all those involved in making it.
The event was part of a broader campaign to defend the creative sector, spread awareness about IP-rights, discourage illegal streaming, and encourage the public to support original content.
