EU and NL Domain Registries Take Down Piracy-Linked Domains
The .nl and .eu domain registries have taken action against several domains linked to piracy following notifications from the Dutch anti-piracy group BREIN. The .nl registry, SIDN, targeted IPTV-related domains such as streamdeal.nl, iptvproviders.nl, omniptv.nl, and iptvstreamplus.nl. Similarly, the .eu registry, EURid, removed seven domains associated with pirated content. These actions were based on the provision of inaccurate WHOIS information by the domain owners, rather than direct copyright infringement. Both registries emphasize that the cancellations were due to violations of their terms and conditions concerning inaccurate registrant data.
