New York State Man Allegedly Used AI To Post Fake Intimate Images
In New York State, a 35-year-old man from Argyle was arrested for creating and posting fake intimate images of people without their consent using AI. He allegedly took casual photos from the victims’ social media and generated explicit “deepfake” content. He posted those images on a public website, presenting them as real. Authorities charged him with multiple counts — including unlawful dissemination or publication of intimate images and 3rd degree obscenity. The complaint was filed after a public tip; he surrendered to state police and is due in court. Lawmakers in New York have already moved to ban “AI revenge porn” and similar non-consensual deepfake content under state law.
