Premier League in all-out battle against illegal streaming
The Premier League has intensified its anti-piracy efforts in Singapore by securing a High Court order mandating internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to 25 websites that illegally stream football matches. This action brings the total number of domains blocked in Singapore to over 460, as part of the league’s ongoing strategy to combat unauthorized streaming across Asia.
The targeted sites are among the most frequented for illicit streaming, and the Premier League has refined the technical methods required for ISPs to implement these blocks, making it more challenging for operators of pirated websites to circumvent them.
In conjunction with its broadcast partner StarHub, the Premier League has also launched the “Boot Out Piracy” campaign, featuring players like Manchester United’s Casemiro and Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, to raise awareness about the risks associated with illegal streaming.
