Revenge Porn and the law in PNG: What you need to know

In Papua New Guinea (PNG), pornography—including online imagery—is strictly banned under multiple laws. The Criminal Code, Lukautim Pikinini Act (2009), Classification of Publication Censorship Act (1989), and National ICT Act (2009) collectively prohibit the possession, import, export, sale, exhibition, or public distribution of pornographic materials. Since around 2009, the government has actively blocked websites with pornography, nudity, or sexual content. Violating these restrictions may result in criminal charges carrying up to six months in prison and fines ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 PNG kina.
