Telekom Srbija joins AAPA in South-East Europe anti-piracy push

The Broadband TV News article reports that **Telekom Srbija has joined the Audiovisual Anti-Piracy Alliance (AAPA), a coalition formed to combat illegal distribution of audiovisual content across regions. By becoming a member of the alliance, Telekom Srbija is expected to strengthen coordinated cross-border anti-piracy enforcement efforts in South-East Europe by contributing regional intelligence and hands-on experience in tackling organised networks that undermine revenue and investment in creative industries.

The AAPA emphasised that Telekom Srbija’s technical expertise and strong presence across the Western Balkans — including pay TV channels, digital platforms and streaming services — make it a valuable partner in the fight against evolving piracy threats. The operator’s leadership said that piracy is not just an economic problem but also poses security and consumer protection challenges, and that joining forces with broadcasters, rights holders and enforcement bodies will help disrupt illicit networks more effectively.

AAPA said piracy continues to grow in both scale and sophistication, and the addition of Telekom Srbija should improve its operational capacity — increasing speed, precision and shared expertise in anti-piracy actions across the region.
