Verimatrix: Sale of Extended Threat Defense Assets (Mobile Application Protection) to Guardsquare
Verimatrix, a France-based cybersecurity company, has completed the sale of its Extended Threat Defense (XTD) assets — including mobile application protection code, related patents, and the team behind it — to Guardsquare, a Belgian leader in mobile app security. The transaction marks Verimatrix’s strategic decision to refocus on its core anti-piracy and video protection business, which makes up the vast majority of its revenue. Guardsquare says the addition of the XTD technology strengthens its mobile security platform, enhancing capabilities such as threat prediction, detection and response across the full app development lifecycle, and aligns with growing demand for robust mobile app defenses worldwide.
