The University of San Francisco has issued a safety alert after reports that a man wearing Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses may have been filming students—especially women—without consent. The man allegedly approached women with unwelcome comments and questions, possibly recording encounters for social media under the handle “pickuplines.pov.” Although no threats have been made, the incident raises serious privacy concerns. Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses include a small LED light to signal recording, but critics argue it’s too inconspicuous. The university urges anyone who believes they’ve been filmed to report the video to campus security and the platform.
