Dutch authorities to stop actively detecting match fixing

The Dutch Public Prosecution Service (OM) is ending its proactive efforts to detect match-fixing, disbanding its joint task force with sports federations—Strategisch Beraad Matchfixing—which was established in 2013. Since its inception, only two confirmed cases were uncovered: one involving teenagers bribing football players, and another with a professional athlete betting on matches. Officials stated that the task force’s limited results don’t justify the use of scarce resources, which will now be redirected elsewhere  .
