Broadcasters warn against piracy as World Cup approaches
Jamaican broadcasters Television Jamaica (TVJ) and Caribbean Premier Sports Ltd (CPSL), operator of RUSH Sports, have warned viewers and businesses against using or facilitating illegal streams of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The companies stated that they are the only authorized World Cup broadcasters in Jamaica and stressed that access through modified IPTV services, Firesticks, Android boxes, and unauthorized streaming apps constitutes piracy and copyright infringement. They also warned that bars, restaurants, fan zones, and other venues cannot publicly show matches without proper authorization. The broadcasters said they are working with FIFA and international anti piracy partners to identify and remove illegal streams and encouraged the public to report suspected piracy ahead of the tournament.
