Central European Media Enterprises Joins ACE Anti-Piracy Coalition
The article reports that Central European Media Enterprises (CME) has joined the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), one of the world’s largest anti piracy coalitions. ACE includes major entertainment companies such as Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon, and Apple TV+, and works globally to combat illegal streaming and copyright infringement.
CME operates television and media businesses across Central and Eastern Europe, including markets such as Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. By joining ACE, CME strengthens the coalition’s presence in Eastern Europe, where regulators and media companies are increasingly focused on protecting intellectual property and reducing digital piracy.
The article emphasizes that piracy has become more sophisticated and international. ACE executives stated that illegal streaming networks now operate across borders using complex infrastructure, requiring coordinated cooperation between media companies, governments, regulators, and law enforcement agencies. CME executives said joining ACE reflects the company’s commitment to protecting creators, supporting legal content distribution, and maintaining a sustainable media environment.
The story also places the move within a broader industry trend. Entertainment companies worldwide are intensifying anti piracy efforts as streaming becomes the dominant form of content consumption. ACE has previously participated in major shutdowns of piracy operations and now includes more than 50 global members sharing intelligence, enforcement strategies, and technical expertise.
