Italy disrupts CINEMAGOAL piracy app that stole streaming auth codes

Italian authorities have dismantled the CINEMAGOAL piracy network, a sophisticated operation that provided illegal access to streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, Sky, and DAZN. Unlike traditional IPTV services, CINEMAGOAL used an app that connected directly to legitimate platforms by continuously capturing and redistributing valid authentication and decryption codes obtained from subscriptions created with false identities. Investigators say the system refreshed codes every few minutes, allowing users to stream content with high quality while making detection more difficult. The nationwide operation, called Tutto Chiaro, involved more than 100 searches, the seizure of servers in multiple countries, and the identification of over 70 resellers. Authorities estimate the scheme caused around €300 million in damages and have already begun issuing fines to users while continuing the investigation into piracy, unauthorized access, and computer fraud.
